The Institute of Transportation Engineers is
a society whose members have professional interests in all aspects of traffic
and public transportation management. The institute publishes its ITE
Journal"
every month and sponsors the Transportation and
Traffic Engineering Handbook. ITE also has excellent technical committees
which, along with other studies, develop standards, particularly for traffic control devices.
