Type of Traffic Signal
There are two types of traffic signals that can be operated:
- Signal by a fixed time (fixed-time signals). Although changing the traffic flow volume, each phase (stage) have a fixed time, in accordance with the plan previously set time.
- Signal based on the movement of vehicles (vehicle actuated signals). Signal by using the interval of time varies, according to traffic demand recorded properly on a detector mounted to the vehicle.
