The form of signs according to MUTCD
The form of signs in various countries (probably) not the same. Property of a sign design including shape, color, symbol or message
The form of signs: There are 9 signs that the standard form:
- Octagon: only used for STOP signs
- Equilateral triangle: only used for YIELD signs in many countries
- Round: used for advanced warning of a rail road crossing, and also used to sign the ban on United Nations Signing Standards.
- Pennant: used specifically for NO PASSING ZONE signs warning.
- Diamond: mostly used for warning signs or possible danger.
- Rectangle, long side vertical: mostly used for regulatory signs (regulatory sign).
- Rectangle, long side horizontal: mostly used for guidance and information signs.
- Trapezoidal: used only for recreation guide signs.
- Pentagon: used only for school and school crossing signs.
