This article is about highway and transport engineering, this time we talk about Urban Transportation Planning Process

The transportation planning process as we know it today has been made possible only through widespread use of large storage electronic computers. The process consists of a series of interdependent steps which can be divided as shown in the picture on the top. This flow chart illustrates the basic activities necessary to a comprehensive study. A brief description of each step follows.
