Highway Air Quality
This article is about highway and transport engineering, this time we talk about the Highway Air Quality

Air pollution may constitute the most serious environtmental impact caused by highway transportation. It is a complex problem, and its evaluation and control may require the involvement of highly trained environtmental specialists.
Air pollutants are natural and man made contaminants in the atmosphere. They may be groped into five major classes:
1. carbon monoxide
2. hydrocarbons (HC) and photochemical oxidants
3. nitrogen oxides (NOx)
4. particulate matter
5. sulfur dioxide (SO2)
