This article is about highway and transport engineering, this time we talk about the Vehicle Type and Size

The type and size of motor vehicles influence clearances for bridges, tunnels, and grade separation structures and the geometric characteristics of streets, roads, and parking facilities. Street and highway facilities are used by a variety of vehicles ranging from motorcycles to articulated truck unit up to 23 m (75 ft) in length and weighing over 45,359 kg (100,000 lb)

Motorcycles are small motorized two or three wheeled vehicles that can transport one or two people. Since motorcycles can operate satisfactorily on any street or highway suitable for cars and trucks, they given little consideration in highway design

Passenger cars and light trucks are the dominant source of personal transportation. These vehicles typically weigh about 680 to1,800 kg (1,500 to 4,000 lb) and accommodate 2 to 6 passengers.

Single unit trucks have the cargo and power unit mounted on a common frame. These trucks range from 2 axle, 6 tire vehicles weighing about 4,536 kg (10,000 lb) to 3 or 4 axle vehicles weighing up to 18,144 kg (40,000 lb). Single unit trucks are most commonly used for hauling freight relatively short distances

A van is a passenger vehicles mounted on an automobile or light truck chassis that is capable of transporting 6 to 15 people

Buses usually transport more than 15 passengers. A minibus is a vehicle less than 7.6 m (25 ft) in length that has capacity of 16 to 25 people. Single unit transit buses measure 2.4 to 2.6 m (80 to 8.5 ft) in width and 9.1 to 12.2 m (30.0 to 40.0 ft) in length and are capable of transporting up to 53 seated passengers. Articulated transit buses are 2.6 m (8.5 ft) in width and as much as 18.3 m (60 ft) in length, with a seated passenger capacity of 73 passengers. Intercity buses are most commonly 2.6 m (8.5 ft) in width and 12.2 m (40 ft) long and have seated capacity of 54 passengers.

Recreational vehicles have a variety of configurations, including passenger cars with trailers, pickup trucks with camper bodies, and motor homes. Although recreational vehicles are operationally similar to passenger cars, light trucks and buses, they often perform poorly because they are more heavily loaded that other vehicles of similar sizes
